Sonié Ruffin returns to the Smithsonian American Art Museum .

 

 

Renowned fabric artist, Sonié Joi Ruffin will lead a community quilt-inspired craft workshop for all ages. The workshop is a part of the “Going West Quilts and Community” on exhibition at the Smithsonian American Art Museum .

 

The Kansas City based fabric artist is the author of “The Soulful Art of African American Quilts: Nineteen Bold, Improvisational Projects”,designer of  fabric collections “My African Village and Drums of Afrika” and director of the Robert Frazier Gallery of Contemporary Art.

 

The workshop will take place at the Smithsonian’s Renwick Gallery Grand Salon Saturday, December 8, 2007 1:00 PM- 4:00PM, located at 17th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue NW. in Washington , D.C.  for more information please visit www.si.edu.com or call 202 633-1000.
